JONESBORO, Ga. Michael King April 6, 2009 A one-year old boy has died after being struck by a car at a local church. The accident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. The child was struck in the parking lot at the House of Prayer All Nations Worldwide Ministries at 737 Veterans Parkway in Jonesboro. Auto Safety A group was meeting at the church. When one person was leaving, she said she felt a bump. She got out of the car and found the toddler. She said she rushed inside to get help and to call 911. The woman driving was a close relative of the boy. The family took the boy to Southern Regional Medical Center, where the child later died. Authorities said they do not plan to charge the woman, and are calling the situation a "tragic accident."
