Bagersville, Indiana Girl 3, Anna Hendley Dies after Choking on Hotdog at Babysitters

Bagersville, Indiana - Three-year old Anna Hendley died after choking on a hot dog at her babysitter's house. A child Anna's age has a windpipe about the size of a drinking straw according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Hotdogs are particularly dangerous because they can wedge and are not easy to dislodge. Other foods at high risk for choking are peanuts, seeds, grapes, carrots, apples, popcorn, Peanut butter, marshmallows, chewing gum and sausages. Peanut butter can form a seal in the airway simialr to a latex balloon. July 31, 2010
